Installation: 1. Turn off the water supply, bottom ball valve first, and ensure both ball valves on the 765-1 are turned off. 2. Turn the sprinkler controller on manually. 3. Unscrew the top nut and remove the brass canopy. 4. Take out the old Bonnet & Poppet. If it's too tight, use a wrench. 5. Put the new poppet inside and place the O-Ring around the Bonnet. 6. Thread the Bonnet into the PVB unit hand-tight only. 7. Replace the Canopy and tighten the nut on top of the canopy using a wrench. 8. Open the water supply side ball valve first, then the second ball valve.

Note: Do not force the parts. They should fit together freely. Excess force may cause damage and render the assembly inoperable. In most cases, tools are not necessary, and hand-tightening is enough to install this bonnet & poppet replacement. In rare cases where the bonnet part cannot be tightened into the vacuum breaker, apply the included grease on the threading, and use a large wrench on the two pits on the outer ring of the bonnet part to tighten it.

This Bonnet & Poppet kit is designed to break when ice forms inside the sprinkler system, protecting the system from total breakdown. Drain and empty the water inside the sprinkler system in advance during icy weather to avoid damage. This part is the last safety measure.
